Tackling Barberry

Join naturalist Phyllis and get to know this common landscape plant that causes so much trouble in natural areas. We’ll begin by getting to know more about invasive plants and then work to pull and dig satellite populations of Barberry in the Woodland Dunes Trail area. This plant is known to create a habitat for deer ticks, so come prepared with long pants, a long-sleeved shirt/jacket, socks, shoes or boots, and a hat. Bring water, insect repellent, leather work gloves, and a heavy garden knife, clippers, or parsnip predator if you have them. This program is best for folks ages 16 and up.

Meet at the Woodland Dunes Trailhead near parking lot P8.
