Stellaluna Meets Wisconsin Bats at Kohler-Andrae State Park
Families are invited to discover the fascinating world of bats during “Stellaluna Meets Wisconsin Bats,” a special afternoon program at Kohler-Andrae State Park.
The program will begin with a short introduction followed by a reading of the beloved children’s book “Stellaluna” by Janell Cannon. After the story, participants will make their own hanging bat craft to take home.
The afternoon will conclude with a brief, family-friendly presentation about Wisconsin’s native bats, including how they live, what they eat, how they find their way in the dark, where they spend the winter, and why bats are such an important part of Wisconsin’s natural environment.
The program will be presented by Barb Kollath, Wisconsin Master Naturalist and bat enthusiast.
Meet in the Sanderling Nature Center. Accessible bathrooms and a water bottle filler are available inside the nature center. A Vehicle Admission pass is required and can be purchased online or at the Park Office upon arrival.
