Cabin Fever Series: Great Lakes Piping Plover Recovery
The piping plover, a small shorebird, is one of 11 state endangered birds in Wisconsin. Piping plovers used to nest on the shores of all the Great Lakes, but due to loss of habitat, recreational pressure, and predation, their populations have significantly declined. By 1948, only one pair of piping plovers was known to still nest in Wisconsin. Join Logan Lasee from Brown County Parks to learn more about Piping Plovers and recovery efforts in Green Bay and the region. This event is recommended for all abilities and ages. Please leave pets at home.
Meet at the Sanderling Nature Center. Bathrooms and a water fountain are available inside. A Vehicle Admission pass is required and can be purchased online or at the Park Office upon arrival.
